By entering your information, you will be improving
the health and wellness of Huron, Sanilac, and Tuscola county
residents. A comprehensive Internet-based resource directory
will empower those needing services with all possible options.
It allows them to research resources in the privacy of their
own home, 24 hours a day. Family and friends living outside of
the Thumb will also be able to quickly and easily identify services
and contact information.
- What if someone doesn't have the internet?
The database is still a powerful tool that can be accessed at
libraries, schools by students, and by friends or neighbors.
Thumbresources.org is also a popular tool with professionals
as they seek to provide the best referrals to the public and
clients.
- I have my own Web
site, do I need thumbresources?
Thumbresources will help to increase your visibility and
access to your own site. Thumbresources has sorting capabilities
not available on most Web sites and is tied to a huge taxonomy
of search categories. Hyper-linking from your thumbresources
page and your own Web site is also available.
- If
I have thumbresources, do I need my own Web site?
You can do things with your own Web site that are not available
with thumbresources, such as including pictures. Personal Web
sites can be designed and individualized for each agency. Thumbresources
is set up to have a standard format to make initial searches by
consumers more user friendly. It also is a starting point for
relatives not residing in the Thumb, but looking for care for
a Thumb area resident.

- Submission & Updating Policies
Submission Policy: Beginning January
1, 2009 we will be adopting
a new submission policy and the second is to ask your support
in continuing this resource directory through a site sponsorship.
• If you are a non-profit organization, your use of the
directory will not be affected by the new submission policy. You may be asked
to answer a few additional questions when updating your information, but you
will continue to have FREE access to the submitting information. As sponsors
are our only source of funding, we are asking all of our non-profit organizations
to consider a sponsorship. We understand that budgets are tight, however in relation
to other program advertising it is very inexpensive.
• If you are a for profit organization, you will be continue
to have FREE access to the entering events into the database. If you wish to
enter an agency and program listing, beginning January 1, 2009 you will be asked
to provide at least a $50 sponsorship. Sponsors are our only source of funding
for the directory and we hope that you will continue to post your information
following this change. Benefits of being a sponsor include a variety of recognition.
Recognition includes listing in a thumbresources.org display
and promotion materials (as space
allows); posting under new sponsors on the thumbresource.org home page for 30
days, one year listing on the About Us page, home page sponsors and their logo
are included on the home page for one
year.
Updating Policy: Having current information
listed on Thumbresources.org is essential! Beginning January 1,
2006 a new
policy will be implemented. Any entry to Thumbresources.org that
has not been updated in the past 12 months will be archived.
Information older than 12 months will no longer be available to
for public
searches. The information will NOT be deleted
so that if an agencies would like to reactivate the data, it
is still there. If you happen to have one of the entries that
are
archived, all you need to do is log in and update the information. Click
on SUBMIT even if you make no changes so that the site
knows to renew the date last updated. For more information or
